  Position such as the ones listed below will be listed for you to select once in the sign up process. Each position has a max # as indicated in the parentheses, with a waitlist . Note that you may sign up for more than one position (if no conflicts).

  June 7 5-7. Reception, Demo, Catering, etc:

  • Catering: select caterer or vollunteers to cook & manage food display (1)
  • Reception (1): Welcome person (knows members) 
  • Layout: work with gallery, handle sponsor banner & other displays
  • Judging: 1 person to assist Judge, preferably someone NOT in the show

  June 7. Welcome Card Table:

  • Name tags for participating artists - prepared (1 person)
  • General name tag & brochure handouts (1 person)
  • Artist's and People's Choice. Ballots handed out by floaters moving around event (2 floaters)

  June 7. Food and drink table:

  • 1 person with server's license for alcohol

  June 7 Event:

  • be sure mic is available, runner to bring prized painting (2 people) can be people from other positions

  Shipping, receiving, returning:

  • May 23-24 10-3. . Receiving: check in paintings in person and/or shipped works

  Members please join us for a morning paint out on the beautiful grounds of the Couse-Sharp home and studio in downtown Taos. This historic site has it all... beautiful lush gardens, mountain views, lovely adobe architecture, a chapel and covered archways. This is a special opportunity because it does require permission to paint at the Couse-Sharp site.

  Registrants should spread out around the buildings and gardens so we are not all on the lawn. Please note, no one is allowed to paint on the covered porches.

  Parking is available at the lower public parking lot on Kit Carson just downhill from the site. You can drop off your gear off in front and then park in the public lot.

  Stay for lunch and then visit the art galleries on Kit Carson Street such as Parson's and Wilder Nightingale Fine Art.

  Only currently registered PAPNM members may take advantage of this opportunity.

  Driving north on 68/Paseo Del Peublo Sur take a right on Kit Carson and drive uphill to 146 Kit Carson on your right. Turn in to the drive way or park on the street or continue downhill to the public lot on the right. The Couse-Sharp house is across the street from the Casa Benavides Bed and Breakfast.

  Ranchos de Taos Plaza and Mission Church Paint Out

  Members please join us for a morning paint out at the historic San Francisco de Asis mission Church and Ranchos Historic Plaza. This 18th century landmark is an active Catholic church made famous for it's wonderful design and huge buttresses painted by Georgia O'keefe. The Ranchos plaza has historic adobe buildings with blue doors and hollyhocks. It's a painters delight.

  Please don’t block church access to the sanctuary.

  the church takes donations if you are so inclined.

  Please park at the rear of the parking lot away from the front of the church. If possible car pool.

  We will meet in front of the main church entrance in the parking lot a few rows back from the front gate. You can also visit the art gallery and gift shops afterwards. Join us for lunch in town or on the Ranchos plaza.

  Paint the Charming Placita Chapel near Vadito

  Our August paint out will be at the charming and historic Placita Chapel on the high road to Taos. This simple adobe chapel features a round shape that is very popular with artists and photographers. 

  The chapel is located in a tiny village with residents. It is located between mile marker 19 and 20 on NM-75. You'll see a few old houses behind the chapel and the mountains beyond. The round backside addresses highway 75. It has a metal roof.

  Carpool if possible. Park near the chapel to not obstruct the view. No bathrooms. Closest bathrooms are in Penasco.

  We will meet in the area of the chapel. We can paint from above the chapel property near the road or where ever seems appropriate.

  Join the group for lunch at Sugar Nymphs in Penasco 10 minutes away.

  Directions from Taos:

  Vadito is 30 minutes (22 miles) south of Taos on the NM-75.

  1. Drive south on 68 out of Taos
  2. Take a left on 518 which goes through Talpa
  3. Take 518 south to the intersection with NM-75
  4. Take a turn onto NM-75 in the direction of Penasco ( Do not proceed straight toward Sipapu Ski Resort).
  5. The chapel is on the left between mile marker 19 and 20 on NM-75. 
     

  Directions from Santa Fe :

  1. Take 84 North from Santa FE.
  2. In Pojoaque Take 503 High Road toward Nambe and Chimayo.
  3. When 503 meets 98 take 98 North toward Chimayo.
  4. In Chimayo take 76 North toward Trampas and Penasco.
  5. When 76 and 75 intersect, take a right on 75 toward Penasco.
  6. The chapel is on the right between mile marker  20 and 19 on NM-75.

  Members please join us for a morning paint out with  breath taking views of the Rio Grande Gorge from above the Taos plateau. We will paint up high on the plateau and look down into the gorge from a large turnout along highway 68. It is a long deep turn out so it is safe from the highway traffic. 

  The view is very dramatic with huge views of the Taos mesa, Taos Mountain and the mountains beyond.

  We will meet in the large turn out/parking area.

  Bathrooms are not available. The nearest bathrooms are in Ranchos de Taos.

  Bring a bag lunch or have lunch at Jalapeño’s in town 10 minutes away in Taos.

  Notice: When you enter google maps using the attached map or gps coordinates, the map title is Taos municiple schools which is incorrect but notice that the satellite view shows the correct image of the turnout with two gazebos.

  When driving south from Taos, the dirt turn off is on the left side of highway 68. It is 12 miles south of Taos Plaza. It is after the Rift Valley Trailhead which is on the right as you drive south on 68 and before the horseshoe turn that goes down hill into the valley below. If you go down hill 12 miles from the Ranchos Plaza you have gone too far and will have to turn around.

  Paint Out at the Historic Mission in Arroyo Seco

  Northern New Mexico

  Saturday October 12, 2024    9AM-12PM

  We will paint a charming mission and structures in Arroyo Seco New Mexico which is off of highway 150 out of  El Prado. The mission is tucked behind the main street (150) on the upper end of Arroyo Seco. 

  Driving up hill on highway 150 you will pass Sabroso Restaurant before you enter town on your left. Then you'll pass Taos Cow on your right. A few doors up you'll see Arroyo Seco Mercantile on your left. The next left is onto Holy Trinity Road which leads directly to the mission a block. If you pass Marigold's, you missed the small street to the mission.

  We will meet near the church at the large parking lot. If there is aa church service please be careful to not block partitioners.

  No bathrooms available probably.

  Join us for lunch in Arroyo Seco.
