Carla Forrest Fine Art Studio, 3812 Central Ave SE, Suite 207, Second Floor, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87108

Celebrate with the grand opening of Balloon Fiesta and my new studio during Albuquerque ARTScrawl on Friday October 6th from 5 to 8 pm. Hors d'oeuvres, wine, and non-alcoholic refreshments will be served. I am offering drastically reduced prices for all paintings during this reception only! Layaway plans are available.

Carla Forrest Fine Art Studio opened in September 2023 in Albuquerque’s Nob Hill along historic Route 66. This “Mother Road” celebrates her 100th anniversary in 2026 as a vital cultural and commercial corridor that City seeks to honor, improve, and celebrate. Carla’s studio is in the Aliso Art Studio Lofts above Remarque Print Workshop in the Hob Hill’s Mankato Place Addition. The building complex is being repurposed and renovated from a pre-mid-century motor lodge into studio apartments and art spaces with hopeful completion by The Mother Road anniversary celebration.

    From Tom:

    A Place Called Morning

Please accept this invitation to attend the reception to my solo exhibition titled "A Place Called Morning." The title and concept are inspired from a poem by Emily Dickinson, from which I derive a rich metaphor for our world today. On the more literal side, if you didn't get enough of the summer monsoon this year, you will find consolation in the next best thing — wall-to-wall sky-themed oil paintings.

A Place Called Morning — An Exhibition of Oil Paintings by Tom Blazier

    Show Dates: October 1-15

    Artist's reception: October 6, 4 to 7 p.m.

Location: Legends of the West Fine Art Gallery, 102 East Water Street, Santa Fe, NM 87501

For more information, contact tblazier@hotmail.com, or visit the websites for Legends of the West Fine Art
     and Tom Blazier.

Note: Be sure to mark your calendar to attend the October 6 reception. It is suggested that you RSVP.

I look forward to seeing you at the reception!

    Thank you.

From Peggy, PAPNM Master Signature Artist: "Just returned from 10 fantastic days painting at Grand Canyon National Park for the 2023 Celebration of Art sponsored by the Grand Canyon Conservancy, the official nonprofit partner of Grand Canyon National Park. The conservancy provides educational programs for the park. Funds raised from the sale of art during the Celebration of Art, now in its 15th year, are to be used to build a permanent museum to display the park’s considerable art collection. Just under $2,000,000.00 has been raised by the COA and this year an existing building was designated by the park as the future museum site. So, the dream is almost realized! Work produced by this year’s 24 invited artists will be on display and available for purchase at Kolb Studio on the South Rim through January 15, 2024, and can also be seen and purchased online on the conservancy’s website. Just Google Grand Canyon Conservancy Celebration of Art to find the site or click the link that I’ll place in my bio. #celebrationofart #grandcanyonconservancy #pleinairmagazine #outdoorpainter #oilpainting #pleinairartistscolorado #pleinairartistsofnewmexico #papnm #peggyimmel #boldbrush #mastriusartist #artofthewest #southwestart "

PAPNM long-time member, Janet Amtmann, has helped form the new Otero Arts Organization, a 501C 3 non-profit organization in Alamogordo:

    https://www.oteroarts.org/

    From Janet:

"...since March of 2022, we have been holding monthly art exhibitions by artists from around the Southern New Mexico area.

We have received grants from New Mexico Arts, the latest being for 2023-2024 to support our arts programs.  Then most recently we received a grant from the Devasthali Family Foundation and the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico specifically for "Visual Arts".

It's been a lot of fun working with artists to help them show their work  at our renovated 1937 WPA building (formerly the Women's Club of Alamogordo).  When the club disbanded some years ago, the county, who owns the building, renovated it and offered it to Otero Arts as a venue for art and cultural programs.

I was one of the founding members and currently serve as Vice President and chair of the Otero Arts Committee.

So despite leaving lovely Santa Fe and all my artist friends there and in Albuquerque, I've managed to find lots of inspiring artists here in Alamogordo and environs.  I've dreamed of hosting a plein air workshop here, and am pleased that my former teacher and friend, Anita Louise West has agreed to host the plein air workshop for us." (See Member Workshops)

Congratulations, Janet, on your efforts to organize an arts' group in another part of this state.
