Updating this as of Saturday noon. Many are enjoying the lunch right now at the Jemez visiting center and/or painting the red cliffs.  Those of us in the "snow belt" who have decided to stay behind due to the weather conditions may still have the opportunity to paint the red cliffs on Sunday.  According to Tom Blazier: "The roads are clear in Jemez Pueblo for the PAPNM Spring Paintout & Show luncheon at Walatowa Visitors Center as of 11:30 a.m. No snow!" But, according to the  weather forecast predicts rain showers at the Pueblo this afternoon and snow in Jemez Springs. According to the Weather news out of Albuquerque, snow warning is in effect until Sunday morning at 3 a.m. covering the area from Santa Fe, down close to Bernalillo, and up to beyond San Isidro and Jemez Springs including Los Alamos almost up to Abiquiu. Please share your experiences with the weather (use reply). Jemez Springs is higher in elevation so more likely to have snow showers on Saturday.

Would love to hear from anyone who did make the drive from Santa Fe or indeed from Albuquerque.

The weather report says rain and snow tomorrow. I'll be sorry to miss the luncheon but am not sure it will be a good enough day to drive up to Jemez for painting.

agree, weather report does not look to promising, I too hate to miss the luncheon and get to meet some of you, but its a 3 hour drive for me, and I really rather be there on a day with some chance of sunshine for painting, so I will have to change plans and come  during the week.  shucks I was really looking forward to leaving early in the am and spending the  day painting and getting know some of the members.    Hopefully I can meet some of you on Monday or Tuesday.  I will check weather report early am and see if its any better.

Thank you for letting us know about not attending the lunch.

This is from Susan Vigil, the co-chair of the event. She is the gallery owner and a resident of the area: Email from Friday:

    Hi Karen

There was a lot of painting going on today with the wet conditions. Snow above Jemez Springs and rain below. They keep on top of highways so that's no problem driving even with snow. We will be at Walatowa tomorrow, so Jemez Pueblo weather is the one to check. Looks like my report says clearing after noon. We may get some beautiful sky and cloud paintings out of Fri and Sat!

Karen, I am passing on the lunch and paint out today.  The news said to stay off the roads except for emergencies. If things clear up tomorrow, I will come for the paint out.  Sunday is the only day left that I can paint, since I work full time.  So if I don't make it tomorrow, I will have no paintings to submit to the show. Sorry.
