November 6, 2018 - March 4, 2019
Have you ever wanted to peek inside the mind of a master artist at the moment they find their Muse? The beauty of New Mexico has a long history of luring the outdoor painter, demanding to be captured in some form of permanence. In fact, some of the best painters in the world come to Taos to do just that!
Three Master Signature members of Plein Air Painters of New Mexico (PAPNM), Clive Tyler, Paul Murray and Peggy Immel, will share some of their outdoor painting processes, answering questions such as: What attracts them to a scene? How do they evaluate the subject and form a plan for the painting? How do they then implement that plan in an environment with ever-changing light? What are the challenges of painting outdoors? What are some of their favorite painting stories? This discussion will be moderated by John Meister, immediate past president of PAPNM.
Tickets are free for members, $10 for non-members.

ARTWORK SPECIFICATIONS:
The spirit of this show is plein air! Because of the intimate space of the Fechin Studio and the limited artificial lighting used in the evenings, each artist is invited to hang one painting that was painted primarily en plein air. Of course, if a painting sells you will be welcome to replace it during the run of the exhibition. We need to limit the image size of the plein air paintings to the neighborhood of about 20”x24”, and all paintings must be framed or gallery-wrapped and wired for museum hanging. We will need your painting (or any replacements due to sales) through the entire run of the exhibition.
DELIVERY OF ARTWORK:
Pieces can be hand delivered or shipped directly to the museum now, but must arrive by Sat., Nov. 3, 2108 at:
Taos Art Museum at Fechin House

Download the Artist Information Sheet here.
Please use the Shipping Label and attach the Back of Art Label to your piece (see links above). The museum has a vault where the paintings can be stored until the show is hung, but they need to be able to identify it as part of our show.
They can accept hand delivered paintings by drop-off during regular museum hours (10:00 AM-4:00 PM) Tues. thru Sun., until Nov 3rd. If you need to deliver a piece outside of those hours, please call Cindy Atkins at 210-288-9336 to arrange it.
