This fundraiser is a husband and wife team effort; Douglas Maahs (photographer) and Tobi Clement (artist) together present a show of their works at Harry's Roadhouse Café. A percentage of the proceeds will be donated  to Friends of the Bosque del Apache.
To view their photographs and paintings.  AMAZING COLLECTION.

The Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge is more than a winter haven that provides critical food and refuge for migratory birds; it is a haven where we mere mortals can revel in a celebration of beauty. Each day is unique, each year different from the last, and through the creative expression of a photographer and artist, we serve to document the history of this place. More now than ever, as changes take place on our planet, we choose to celebrate loudly the beauty that is nature.

Friends of the Bosque del Apache need our continued financial assistance to support essential projects from educational programs to infrastructure, like replacing old wells.

As a way to give back and support this critical refuge, a special collection of their original photographs and paintings will be available for viewing at Harry's Roadhouse Café, Santa Fe, NM, from November 9 - December 11, 2022.

Ultimately, we all search for our connection to nature and consequently to our soul.  To listen to the sounds of nature as it unfolds every morning at the Bosque del Apache, opens a door for me to my heritage, my lineage and my history as spoken by the ageless fauna that surrounds me.  I am blessed to spend my time capturing these magnificent creatures in photographs.  May my photographs instill in others the immediacy of the need for their preservation.

The Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge,
has been my haven for a decade and provided endless
inspiration. Surrounded by the chorus of migratory
birds, I celebrate and honor its beauty through my art.
This is my church, my haven,
where I feel connected to spirit.

Photographs and paintings have been professionally framed. Tobi's original pastel paintings have an Italian wood frame, archival mat, and protective anti-reflective glass. Douglas's signed, professional prints have wood frames, archival mats, and glass.

I want your experience of moving from one painting to the next to feel like the long, sustained draw of a bow over a low, open string of a cello" — Natasha Isenhour

American Realist Natasha Isenhour conveys her emotional response to landscape,

architecture and still life in oil, pastel and watercolor.

From a distance, a first impression is the realistic feeling of the work. Still, a closer look reveals a contemporary edge where her mark-making controls the impressions of mass and delicacy. Isenhour depicts what she sees as unpopulated spaces with an edgy lonesome starkness that defines the very essence of her work.

"The Beautiful Lonesome" is an echo in my mind constantly," Isenhour says.  "It's the music I listen to, the things I'm drawn to, the landscape I travel through, and the paths I choose to take. My intent for this show is to reflect to the viewer the beauty in the otherwise unnoticed places and things I find throughout the American West, and most often in this incredible place I call home; New Mexico.

"While this exhibit illustrates my diversity of medium and subject, the thread of 'music' that defines it stays consistent. When I witness beauty, I hear music, which often inspires visions of how to portray a subject," Isenhour states.

    FYI

Taos Art  Museum presents: The Beautiful Lonesome, a solo exhibition of paintings by Natasha Isenhour in the Fechin Studio from Oct. 25 - Dec. 4.

An exhibition reception is Saturday (Oct. 29) from 1-3 p.m.,

in the Fechin Studio, 227 Paseo del Norte

(Note: Reception date change from the original planned 15th date to the 22nd).

Carol: "This show will cover 45 years as a Figure artist from the days when I taught myself sculpture and produced hundreds of Fine Art Dolls through my years creating Mixed Media Oil and Acrylic paintings embellished with real Gold leaf. I was asked for only the figure paintings and a select group of dolls from my collection which will offer a unique perspective on my work and history as an artist. Most people in NM know me as a landscape painter so this is an opportunity to see work spanning many years offering a different view. I am inviting all PAPNM to come to the Reception on Oct 15 and through the month."
