Participant Level: Advanced Beginners & Intermediate to Advanced - Participants should have some experience with their chosen medium and have painted en plein air at least a few times.

Join Peggy in this dynamic one-day workshop, tailored to help you develop your own unique artistic voice and consistently achieve greater success in your plein air painting.
After we touch on the essentials of impactful painting, from composition and shapes to values and color theory, we will explore strategies for painting in the field, especially in competitive settings. From picking the perfect subject to framing like a pro, we will cover all the bases. Throughout the day, Peggy will provide personalized guidance and demonstrations in oil. Artists in all mediums are welcome so, whether you are an oil painter, an acrylic aficionado, a watercolor wizard, a pastel phenom or just want to sketch with a pencil and paper, you are invited to join us for a day of inspiration, laughter and artistic growth and take your painting to the next level.

Peggy Immel is an award-winning artist whose works have been featured in national exhibitions. Her educational background includes architectural studies at Arizona State University and classes at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the DeCordova Museum School, and the Silvermine Arts Center. She is a Master Signature member of Plein Air Painters of New Mexico, a Signature Member of Plein Air Artists Colorado, and a Signature Member of American Women Artists. Her paintings have received numerous awards including four Best of Shows. She recently received the Best of Show Trustees Award at the 2022 Millicent Rogers Museum Annual Miniature Exhibition in Taos, NM and First Place in the 2021 Sedona Plein Air Festival in Sedona, AZ. Her work has been showcased in Santa Fean Magazine, Plein Air Magazine, Southwest Art, and Art of the West Magazine. She is represented by Wilder Nightingale Fine Art in Taos, NM and Sorrel Sky Gallery in Santa Fe, NM, and Durango, CO.
