JUDGE OF AWARDS:

Workshop:

Carole Belliveau,
PAPNM Signature Member

https://www.carolebelliveau.com

Carole Belliveau was raised just outside New York City and attended Parsons School of Design in Manhattan for a year. Later she taught herself sculpture to craft one of a kind and limited edition dolls. Her own signature collection under the name Carole Bowing Dolls was introduced at the International Toy Fair each year to a large following of fans. She won many International Doll of the Year Awards. She also designed dolls, toy concepts and teddy bears for some of the largest toy companies such as Zapf, Hasbro, Tyco and Marie Osmond Dolls.

Carole moved West in 1997 and was excited by the unlimited vistas, incandescent color, and landscape of drama and light and was inspired to paint. After working in pastel for a number of years and selling through galleries, she entered The Academy of Art University in San Francisco graduating Cum Laude with a BFA in painting. Her passion for Plein Air Painting was born at the California coast and in the plains and mountains of New Mexico.

Carole has won many awards most notably the Grand Prize Winner of the Cadmium Award at TRAC 2019, and both the FASO BoldBrush Award in Oil and the Outstanding BoldBrush in Acrylic. She is a member of the Oil Painters of America, American Impressionist Society and has earned Signature Status in American Women Artists, Plein Air Painters of New Mexico and Monterey Bay Plein Air Painters Association. She served as both President and Signature Chair of Monterey Bay Plein Air Painters Association for several years and as Vice President of PAPNM. Her work is in both public and private collections, notably in the Monterey California Courthouse.

Palette Knife Painting with Carole Belliveau
    July 28, 2023 - 9 AM - 2 PM

    $115 per person
    Limited to 12 students

Led by PAPNM Signature member, Carole Belliveau, this class is a great way to learn new skills and practice some tried and true basics that will level up your painting right before the paint out.

Beginner to intermediate oil painters will learn new palette knife skills including the use of each tool and effects they can make. Students will then practice proportional sketching following the Notan method of shapes in light and dark values, followed with the completion of a palette knife painting. As an added bonus, students are invited to show their class work and a previous painting during a Group Critique.

This is a rare opportunity with a small group of students where you will have one-on-one time with the Instructor.
