From Marcia:
"My painting, New Mexico Dream, has been selected for the Albuquerque Public Art Collection! I am so happy to have my work be part of the public art scene in New Mexico. This painting is based on a plein air sketch that I did several years ago at Ghost Ranch, in Abiquiu, NM. I don't know where it will be hung, so if you are wandering around public spaces in Albuquerque, keep an eye out!"
From Carole Belliveau, PAPNM Signature Member:
"I received a notification last night of a totally unexpected honor: Congratulations, your work has been recommended for purchase to be included in the Albuquerque Public Art Collection. The Art Selection Committee reviewed 247 submission and recommended 35 works of art purchase. The Art Board approved the recommended 35 works for purchase at the January meeting."
Congratulations, Marcia and Carole.
From Diane: "I’m so pleased my pastel painting “Wet Desert” was chosen to be included in Plein Air Magazine this month in the article “Mountain High Valley Low”! Thank you, Gina!"
Congratulations, Diane!!

Peggy: " I'm excited about the Wine, Chocolate and Art shindig Sorrel Sky Gallery in Santa Fe is having to feature my paintings and Star York's sculptures. I love seeing everyone and catching up on your plans for the new year, so I hope you can join us at the reception at the gallery to check out the wine, the chocolates and our art.
"Plein air painter Peggy Immel and sculptor Star Liana York live, work, and explore in the New Mexico landscape that brings them unlimited inspiration. Whether it’s a cloudy sky or blue sky, golden aspens or green fields, Peggy’s paintings reflect the unique lighting of the Southwest with luminosity and atmospheric effect. At the start of each new piece, she asks herself, “Why are you painting this?” which helps her stay focused on her intent and goal. “I believe the ‘why’ of a painting matters more than the ‘what.’ The most exciting pieces to paint have both a visual and philosophical foundation.” – Peggy Immel. As she works in her studio Star patiently waits for her subject to make itself known in the clay. The range of her work reflects her interest in the people, animals, environment, and history of the region. A continuing source of inspiration for her bronze sculptures comes from exploring the native peoples of the Southwest and the mythology of ancient sacred sites. "When a character emerges from a work I am sculpting, I feel touched at a deeply intimate, subconscious level. It is the essence in a work of art that makes it intensely personal and entirely universal at the same time." – Star Liana York
From Michele: "Just received notice from FASO - Fine Art Studio Online that this piece "First Snow" was selected as part of the FAV15% for the December competition. That means it's one of the jury's favorite 15%. I always forget to enter this competition, which happens every month if you have a website through FASO. This will hopefully remind me to keep entering.
This piece SOLD on Christmas Eve Acosta Strong Fine Art! "
Congratulations. Exceptional painting!!
