Las Conchas Trailhead - East Fork of the Jemez River - Near the Valles Caldera

Just imagine this as a snow scene and who knows it might be, but this is a beautiful location to paint in any season. Carpooling is probably a good idea. Pack light if you want to hike down to the creek.
Meet in the small parking lot at the Las Conchas Trailhead - East Fork of the Jemez River.

DIRECTIONS:
From Santa Fe: Take US-285 north to NM-502W/Los Alamos. Take NM-4 towards Bandelier/White Rock, continue on NM-4 past the Valles Caldera. The Las Conchas Trailhead will be on the right just past the Las Conchas Campground/fishing access area. There's a small parking lot above a stream.
From Albuquerque: Take I-25 North TO US-550 W.., turn right on NM-4 through Jemez Springs towards Valles Caldera. Las Conchs Trailhead is on the left about 35 miles on Hwy. 4 before the Valle Caldera.
