From either ABQ or Santa Fe, Take I25 North to exit 345 follow to East University (State Rte 65/NM-104) turn right on to East University. Go approx 1 mile to NM281 turn right on to NM281. Follow approx. 5 miles to the Wildlife Refuge Visitors Center turn left.

The subject will be the sunset with the mountains and Hermits Peak in the background.  Foreground prairie grass.  Sunset is at 6:59 pm.  Folks should be there by 6:00 pm to be set up as the sun sets.  Maria will be there at 5:00 pm to get the gate opened and meet the incoming artists.

A group of eight local artists did this on the solstice, June 21.  Maria was able to make arrangements with the Refuge to keep the gate at the visitor's center open and will make those arrangements for this event as well.  The Refuge closes at sunset but we are  given permission to stay past sunset.  The visitor's center is not open, so no bathrooms.  Plenty of parking.
