As you select your paintings to submit, please take a photo of it so that you can submit the image for the online album.  You will be asked to submit your image(s) for the event album immediately as we are duplicating the PAPNM album for AAI  as the online voting for the the awards for this event will start 8 am on September 3rd, 2025.  We will close voting for the 6 awards on the morning of September 5, 2025 so that we can tally the the votes, prepare the award certificates etc.  Please note there will be voting on both the AAI and PAPNM websites.  This is important that you get your images uploaded after you turn in the painting(s) weather you take advantage of the early turn in on the 24th, turn in at AAI on September 1st.

Now to review the preparation in of your paintings for turn in .  Please note your paintings should be properly framed unless you have completed the painting on a gallery wrap surface with all sides painted or finished.  If you are using glass, both glass and acrylic are acceptable.  All paintings must be prepared for hanging utilizing d- rings.  No saw tooth hangers allowed.   When you turn in your paintings, each must have 2 labels (one affixed to the back and the other placed with the painting. Here is the  painting labels.pdf again.  Also, include your two pictures of the Placard Mother Road paint out.pdf  for each painting delivered) one at the start, and one at 80%.  I found it easier to copy the pictures to a word document and then print it out.  Do what works best for you.

Now to the details of how and when to get your lovely paintings to Amirillo Art Institute.

If you are shipping your work to the Amarillo Art Institute:

Must arrive no later than August 29th.  Can arrive as early as August 26th.  Address information is as follows:  Amarillo Art Institute.  Attention Mike LaFleur,   3701 Plains Boulevard, Suite 72D, Amarillo, Texas 79102; Phone (806) 354-8802 if needed for UPS or Fed Ex label. Remember to include your prepaid return label as well.  Must be in a professional mailer, no DIY boxes and definitely no packing peanuts.

Early In person drop off in Santa Fe: August 24th, 12 Noon-6 pm at Lee Blakeney’s home: 2422 Botulph, Santa Fe, NM; Phone (806) 674-0282.  We will also host a Potuck and Art Supply Swap on Sunday, the 24th.  Bring some snacks to share.  I will have a pot of my Gringa Chili and Lee will have fresh fruit.  For the Art Supply Swap bring those gently used art supplies that are no longer your fav’s to find their new forever home.  Please put a price tag and your name on your goodies.  Each transaction will be between you and  the person buying your supplies.  If you don’t have anything to send to a new home, that’s ok - there will be a whole lot of items to choose form to take home.  Suggest that your bring Cash and or have your PayPal, Venmo, of Zelle applications ready to go.

In person drop off in Amarillo: September 1st 10am-4pm 

Amarillo Art Institute, 3701 Plains Boulevard, Suite 72D,Amarillo, Texas 79102. The same process will be used at the early turn in on the 24th (above).

After you have turned in your paintings, upload your image of the painting to the online gallery.  This is mportant for the voting for super prizes. Voting will be open to all PAPNM members and AAI members. This is the same process we use in the quarterly contests: No signature, include in the caption the title of the painting, medium, size of the painting.  I will send the link in the next reminder. We will open up voting for prizes on September 3rd at 8am.  Voting will close on September 5th at 8am.  Awards will awarded on September 5th at the reception.  We hope to see all of you at  the reception on September 5th at the Amarillo Art Institute. Bring your collectors and family too!

After you get your paintings submitted and images uploaded to the event album, we want each of you to market this event and your beautiful paintings to your lists.  It is important we give those lovely pieces the best opportunity to find their new forever homes.
