As we all prepare our centennial celebration paintings of the Mother Road, listed are a few reminders and clarifications from the prospectus.
Your paintings:
- Each registered artist will be allowed to exhibit up to four paintings and one 'Tiny Treasure' completed during this event’s paint out
- No minimum size. Maximum size per piece is 18” x 24” or 432 square inches unframed.
- Tiny Treasures will be completed with materials provided. Those 5 artists who recently signed up, have the option of having their materials mailed to them or they can come to my home in Pecos to pick them up
- All work must be at least 80% completed en plein air, during the paint out period
- All work must be sturdily framed, or gallery wrapped and ready to hang with D-rings and wire. No saw tooth hangers will be accepted.
- Delivered paintings must have a label on the back and another to turn in at drop off (we use that for creating wall labels etc.. You can get the blanks here: labels . These two labels will suffice as the inventory form.
- Each painting should be accompanied by 2 progress photos taken during the painting process (start and 80% complete) with the placard visible in the photo.
Turning in your paintings
- August 28 - Last date to receive Shipped work at the AAI. Remember include a return shipping label and no DIY shipping containers
- August 29 - 12 to 5pm Early Drop off at Lee Blakeney's home in Santa Fe, NM. We will have a potluck, art materials swap and drop off of your wonderful work
- September 1- from 10am to 4pm drop off ready to hang artwork at AAI in Amarillo.
The reception and awards presentation will be at AAI in Amarillo on September 4 at 4pm. Reception at AAI to formally open the show. We hope to see you there.
